It is difficult to find "cool" foods that teenagers like but mine went nuts over this..

2 tabs cornstarch - check the label
2 tab water
1/2 tsp garlic powder (fresh if you like)
1 lb steak, flank steak, skirt steak

Cut the meat into thin slices - 3 inches

Combine the cornstarch, garlic powder, and water.  Add the beef and coat it well

In 1-2 tablespoons of Olive oil, cook the meat..  We like it medium rare so I just cooked it for several minutes and then took it out.  Put in a bowl and cover to keep warm

------------------------------------------------------------

1 tab cornstarch - check the label
3 tab olive oil
4 cups broccoli florets
1 onion - chopped
1/3 cup - low salt soy sauce
3 tab brown sugar
1 tsp ground ginger (fresh if you like)

In 2 tablespoon of olive oil, stir fry the onion and broccoli for 5 minutes.

Put the meat back in the pan.

Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and 1/2 cup of water.  Add to the pan.

Cook and stir for several minutes until the sauce thickens up.

Serve over white rice

Great Indian Dish....

  • 6 Boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • One large Onion
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 2 garlic cloves or 2 tsp minced garlic in jar
  • 1 inch fresh ginger chopped or 3 tsp minced ginger in jar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon coriander - optional
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne red pepper (or more)
  • 1 can unsweetened coconut milk

Sauté onion in olive oil and add chicken chunks.  Cook until chicken is white… don’t brown

Add all of the spices and simmer on low for 15 minutes…

At this point, you can put in the refrigerator if you are making ahead…

Or…you can add the coconut milk to your desired thickness of sauce…   simmer for another 15 minutes

Add teaspoon of salt

Serve over rice

I guess it is time to figure out twitter.  I have had an account for a while and even have followers but just don't participate.  I am trying to be hip and cool but do you really care about my whereabouts and thoughts 24/7?

Today, at 12:00pm EST, there is a meeting of some food allergy folks.  Visit tweetgrid.com and type in #foodallergy

I plan on giving it a try so you can too....  I'm hip, I'm cool....Tucka Tucka
